August Shooting and Wall Ball Routine
Hi everyone and welcome to Team Michigan. Alex, myself and all of our coaches are excited to start this program to build up Michigan Lacrosse once more. In doing so, we're going to be sending out weekly messages that help with perspective, develop more passion, and give some direction.
They'll include quotes, maybe some clips of lacrosse to watch and focus on, or HW to be done!
These will typically go out on Mondays as part of our Monday Message Series but we'll start on Wednesday for our first one.
HW - Reps to grow, Reps to Build Confidence:
You're going to hear us talk about reps a lot. Reps make the world go round. Reps being a good person, reps in time getting HW done, reps in the sports you play to build your acumen, your ability.
How do you build confidence? With reps. Big test is coming up, you need to study. That's getting reps. Some of our kids are learning to drive in a few years. That's scary!!!! They'll need reps to build up their ability. Reps with responsibility. Doing things for others and our families. That takes conscious reps to think about others.

So, the question is how much do you want to grow? How good do you want to be? What's your why? For a lot of our kids, BECAUSE IT'S FUN!!! When we start seeing success in games and practice and building confidence, IT'S FUN!!! It becomes more enjoyable. BUT, it takes work and planning and organizing your time!

Summer Reps - 1 MONTH LEFT!
'33 & '34 Teams - Wall ball twice per week with suggested workout!
'31 & '32 Teams - Wall ball 3-4 times with suggested workout!

Shot on the run - Old buddy of mine, one of the best shooters in his prime in the world

Hitch and split/face dodge to shot - Sankey has some great videos
You can either do a split or a face dodge when you bring it over. I suggest starting with a face dodge to finish close to the goal/inside finish. A lot of our kids aren't splitting and shooting yet at '33 & '34

We'll have more advanced shooting drills coming your way. Work on the fundamentals of these shots for the next month! Get quality reps, don't go through the motions.
